Closely related to the Real Estate Agent, the Property Manager normally deals with rentals.
I've experienced Property Managers from both sides of the fence, as a 'client' and as a 'punter'
In both capacities, they have caused more stress than I thought possible, communication is next to impossible, but only once they have you signed up.
However, one time that the communication lines finally fire up is when a property manager would like to tell you to leave the property, they will contact you via a faceless email, with all manner of excuses, which will often change with each subsequent communication.
Like the Real Estate Agent, truth is rarely used in communications, they'll normally 'forget' to turn up to appointments, which are normally scheduled by the Property Manager at the most inconvenient time for most folk who have a regular job.
Martin I will have to disagree with you here, as I believe you have understated the actual contempt that this race of human actually seems to have for all people renting property. I believe these people, or sub-humans are this way as they are "wannabee" Real Estate Agents and are therefore treated so badly by their co-workers that they have to let their frustration and pain out on the innocent public. They have no regard for property owner or renter alike as all they are interested in is getting the numbers so that one day they can finally get to be an Agent. I despise all that I have had dealings with and in my over 15 years of renting in Canberra I can say I have met a lot.
ReplyDeleteOne of the tips for improving the job of property managers is to personalize the services as much as possible. The default property management script that your call center provider has on file will get the job done, but it’s always better to personalize it to fit your business.
